Peel wins!
|
THE Thunder roared at Rushton Park in Mandurah on Saturday night.
Yes, as predicted on these pages (in a paragraph edited out for space
reasons) Peel is back in town.
The Thunder beat East Fremantle by 25
points, blowing the Sharks apart by kicking 5.7 to two goals in the third quarter
after piling on 5.5 to 2.4 in the second.
Peel has had its doubters but
now the future looks bright - as early as this morning members of the WAFC were
locked in a meeting giving consideration to a third WA AFL licence for a club
based in Mandurah.
"Peel has all the ingredients," a WAFC spokesperson
told australianrules.com.au, "A talented team is already in place, the crabbing
is good and there are plenty of family bistro restaurants already in operational
mode. With the Eagles and Dockers in good shape we think it's time to strike."
