Pickett's medal

PEEL'S Alistair Pickett is the winner of the 2002 Sandover Medal.

But don't expect the AFL recruiters to come running. Pickett, in his first full season of senior WAFL footy after five games last season, turned 29 last month.

The classy left footed midfielder has had a great season and missed out on state representation only because of a broken jaw.

Pickett polled 33 votes to win from East Perth's Ryan Turnbull and Peel's Daniel Wells with 27. Another Peel player Darren Bolton and Perth's Richard kelly were next on 23.
