Semi time at WA SFL
|
by LES EVERTT
IN tomorrow's first semi final of the WA Sunday
Football League Wanneroo Kingsway will meet Maddington. The teams go into the
game at one-all for the season. The Roos beat the Bulls by five points in round
one. Maddington won the round 10 encounter by 22 points. It's a long time since
these teams last met.
In the second semi it's Kenwick against the
undefeated Lions. There hasn't been much between the top two previously with
Thornlie winning by 21 points in round eight and just a goal a few weeks ago in
round 17.
If the Bulls were a horse the stewards would be calling for a
swab. Maddington produced a 96 point turn around in one week to knock off the
Hawks in last week's elimination final. In fact the Bulls had won only one of its
previous five games. The Bulls are now officially back on track.
This year's Bowden Medal will be presented on Tuesday. We reckon Thornlie trio Mark Urbas,
Mark Millington and Troy Stubberfield will do ok as will Royals Dwayne Cook and
Rob Stephan; Bull Jason Peake; Hawk Paul Saylor; Bulldog Clive Hayden; Tiger
Jarrod Daniel and maybe Demon Steven Mead. But the official australianrules.com.au tip for this year's
Bowden Medal is Roo Brad Trpchev.
