Lions down the Royals

THE meeting between the two top teams in the WAFL threw up a very interesting result with the finals just around the corner.

Subiaco proved far too strong for premiership favourite East Perth and won by 40 points.

In the other Sunday game Perth trailed at each change but kicked five goals to one in the last quarter to record a three goals win over South Fremantle at Fremantle Oval.

Andrew McDougall kicked seven goals for the Demons, Andrew Glover was brilliant in the midfield and Andrew Shipp inspired in attack in the last quarter.

Zane Parsons kicked five goals for the Bulldogs and Scott Thornton played well in defence.

East Perth, Subiaco, West Perth and East Fremantle will fill the top four spots.
