A couple of thrashings
|
THE WAFL finals kicked off today (Sunday
September 5) with two one-sided semi finals.
In the first semi final
Swan Districts romped away from South Fremantle kicking nine goals to two in the
last quarter to win by 50 points.
Swans jumped the Bulldogs in the first
quarter and took a 28 point lead into the main break but a strong third quarter
from South reduced the margin to seven points at three quarter time.
Craig De Corsey kicked six goals and Adam Lange kicked four in yet another fine
performance.
South's best player was key defender Jaymie Graham who was
far too good for Paul Johnson.
In the second semi Subiaco was never
seriously challenged in beating Claremont by 60 points.
Brad Smith
kicked six goals for the Lions taking his season's tally to 104, midfielders
Allistair Pickett and David Robbins were in brilliant form and Caine Hayes
impressed in defence and attack.
Tony Delaney was Claremont's best
player and Anthony Jones kicked three goals.
