A weekly road trip
|
by LES EVERETT EVERY Tuesday during the football season Helen Duxbury from the far-northern
suburb of Hocking picks up her daughters Charlotte, Abbie and Robyn from school
and heads for Fremantle.
Avid Fremantle supporters: Charlotte, Abbie, Helen and Robyn Duxbury at training. Photo by Les Everett.
People's night at Fremantle Oval is the attraction and
the Duxburys have been carrying out the routine for the past three years.
"We're
avid supporters," Helen told the Rooster, "we'll take the good with the bad."
We caught up with the Duxburys just a couple of days after a game
that will certainly be filed under 'bad' and like most supporters they were
still feeling the disappointment.
"I think they need to go back to the basics and
play like they did in the first game against Port Adelaide," Helen said, "they
need to show more passion."
"Like the fans," added Charlotte.
By the way
Charlotte's favourite player is Byron Schammer, Abbie likes Paul Medhurst the
best, Helen and the team have been missing her favourite Docker James Walker in
recent weeks while Robyn gives her nod to Luke Webster.
Meanwhile the chances are
you'll see the Duxburys at training next Tuesday.
