Up there Gumby
|
HE was playing just his second league game for South Fremantle but Paul "Gumby"
Mugambwa had everybody talking when he flew high for this mark at Fremantle Oval
on Saturday July 23.
Roger Hayden said it's the best mark he's ever seen
while, judging by the expressions on their faces, Hayden North (31) and Todd
Curley, the West Perth player to North's right, thought it was pretty special
too.
Also in close proximity to Gumby's specky were Adam Hay (19) and
Falcons Dion Fleay (35), who must have thought he was about to pull in a big mark
at his old home ground, and Darren Atkinson (16).
Gumby was born in South
Africa and took up Australian rules footy when he was 14-years-old at the famous
Bullcreek-Leeming junior football club.
He's now 24 and we reckon he'll
be providing a few more thrills in the years to come.
From the Fremantle
Rooster.
