Bulls and Royals again
|
by LES EVERETT
IT'S the same two teams in the 2005 WA Sunday Football League grand final as
fought it out in last year's classic encounter.
In 2004 the teams scored 34.14
between them with Kenwick winning by 24 points. Last year Maddington went into
the grand final as favourite having beaten Kenwick three times during the season
including a 45 point second semi final victory.
The teams have met four times
this year. Kenwick beat Maddington in their first two meetings - by six points in
round six and 10 points in round 13 - but the Bulls thrashed the Royals by 87
points in round 17 and by 75 points in the second semi final.
Kenwick has won six
of the past nine SFL grand finals and the ability of the Royals to peak at the
right time is clear.
On form it's Maddington. And that's what we said last year.
Thornlie's Heath Woollams was the winner of the SFL's most prestigious honour the
Bowden Medal for 2005. Woollams polled 25 votes. The others in the top five were Warren Bank
(Maddington), Dwayne Cook (Kenwick) 19; Rowan Arnott (Kelmscott) 17; Zorak
Bin Zaad (Armadale) 16.
