WRITTEN and performed at home in East London by Green Gartside, this CD is both a personal and urbane document of his times. His trademark layered vocal harmonies are coupled with simple beats and programmed keyboard accompaniment that doesn't clutter the sound or cover the lyrics. A long way from his funky post punk pop of the Eighties it sounds more like Beach Boys vocals and melodies mixed with downtempo electro. Initially a little sweet, but I warmed to some of the tunes after a few spins. Worth a listen.
