JOSH RITTER

Golden Age of Radio

by LES EVERETT

Ritter is definitely one of the better singer songwriters going around in the world of Americana.

He has introduced Latino sounds into some of his latter releases but his 2001 offering Golden Age of Radio stands as a bit of classic of the genre.

One test for the listener is to get by Me & Giggs, a song so good you'll want to play it over and over. Once you're around hurdle you'll find the rest of it is very good too.

The title track returns to, and amps up, the lazy drumming that adds so much to Giggs while Lawrence, KS and Leaving are beautifully lonesome tunes.

Golden Age of Radio by Josh Ritter is available for $10 from Dirt Cheap CDs, Carillon City, Murray Street Level, Perth 9322 5122.
