CD review
by LES EVERETTTHERE'S another number one at my place - Landry's Lawless Soriez has been getting a hammering. It's a sprawling end-of-the-line ballad set off by some super trumpet by Victor Nash. That's track two. The album opens with Poor Boy a dirty blues of the "Poor boy/Long ways from home..." variety. Actually he says "Aint got no home" and it creaks and aches just like the blues should. There's a nice French feel to this and those who like things a little rough around the edges will enjoy the time spent in gutters on floors. 19 July 2007 |
