Flogging for FalconsWEST PERTH'S hopes of making the WAFL finals took a dive when they were thrashed by 84 points by ladder leaders Subiaco in round 21's Sunday game. The Falcons must now win their last two and hope East Perth lose their last two to displace the Royals though if they beat South Fremantle next week there could be another avenue.. Perth's weird season continued with a six-point loss to Claremont. The Demons are sitting on the bottom of the ladder but their losing margins over the past five games have been eight, three, seven, four and six points. East Fremantle handed out an old-style thrashing to Peel beating the seemingly improved version of Thunder by 122 points after leading by just four at quarter time. In the Friday night game at Fremantle Oval Swan Districts shocked South Fremantle kicking four goals to none in the last quarter to win by seven points. The Bulldogs are now in danger of losing third place and a home final or even their place in the four. The ladder: Subiaco 60; Claremont 60; South Fremantle 40; East Perth 40; West Perth 36; East Fremantle 32; Swan Districts 32; Peel 16; Perth 12. 19 August 2007 |
