In the Fremantle derby South beat East by 79 points. Paul Duffield, who scored four goals, was the best player on the field and received good support from Craig White, who is enjoying being defender, and James Walker. Josh Kennedy kicked three goals for the Sharks.

Peel caused the surprise of the round coming from 18 points down at half time to beat Perth by 11 points at Lathlain Park. Peel kicked nine goals to one in the third quarter to turn the game around. Haydn Ballantyne was outstanding for Thunder and kicked four goals. Troy Cook was Perth's best player.
