No win for LionsSUBIACO had the bye in the WAFL in round nine. Their closest rivals South Fremantle and Swan Distrcits met at Fremantle Oval with the Bulldogs thrashing Swans by 79 points and taking over second place. Ryan Murphy kicked seven goals for South, Andrew Siegert got four and James Walker was again in form. The big win was a fitting celebration for Keren Ugle's 150th game. Brett Robinson maintained his good form for Swan Districts. Perth and West Perth fought out a draw at Lathlain Park. Troy Cook again led the way for the Demons and Josh Pearch was the best for the Falcons. Peel kept in touch with the four after beating East Perth by 44 points. David Butler and Kane Bloxidge were strong in the midfield for Peel and Hayden Ballantyne kicked four goals. Andrew Merrington scored five of East Perth's eight goals. East Fremantle beat Claremont by 21 points at Wonthella Oval in Geraldton. Local boy Liam Anthony was the best player on the ground and kicked three goals and Calib Mourish also enjoyed the familiar conditions and was strong in the ruck for the Sharks. Anthony Jones and Ian Richardson kicked four goals each for the Tigers. Next week: Subiaco vs South Fremantle, Swan Districts vs Peel, East Fremantle vs Perth, West Perth vs Claremont.
