Oh Setanta what have you done

Team mate punched and kicked...

IN a story in The Age (and on australianrules.com.au) in 2003 Paul Daffey wrote that young Irishman Setanta O'hAilpin, who was hoping to be placed on Carlton's rookie list, got some laughs when he asked coach Denis Pagan when the hitting would begin.
Today in a friendly intraclub game in Melbourne O'hAilpin hit and kicked his team mate Cameron Cloke in an incredible incident that could bring his 45-game AFL career to an end.
The club has reacted by suspending O'hAilpin indefinitely.  “Setanta’s actions were totally unacceptable, on or off the field, and we are bitterly disappointed in the incident with Cameron Cloke,” said Carlton CEO Greg Swann.
The AFL has been quick to point out that normal match review panel rules apply to intraclub scratch matches and that the umpires in today's game have lodged a notice about an incident in the game. The MRP will meet to have a look at it on Monday.
O'hAilpin, who was a hurling star County Cork, was actually born in NSW but went to Ireland with his family at a young age.
O'hAilpin made his AFL debut in 2005 and at times showed signs he was getting the hang of Australian Rules.
