A look at My Year Without Sex...
SARAH WATT'S latest film My Year Without Sex has, interestingly enough, a nice rhythm to it.
Mother-of-two Natalie (Sacha Horler) finds she has a serious medical condition and must avoid things like sneezing, heavy lifting and orgasms – hence the film's title.
Life goes on – there's housework to be done, presents to be bought, life to be lived.
Matt Day is the husband Ross and the kids are Jonathan Segat (Louis) and Portia Bradley (Ruby).
Footy lovers will find a lot to like in Louis's other life as a Western Bulldogs supporter and some lovely glimpses at junior coaching and playing. There's a wonderful scene at Natalie's hospital bed when her son is reduced to tears.... by the drama on a silent TV in the corner of the room and a goal by Jeff White to secure a win for the Demons over the Bulldogs.
This is a good natured film, funny and sad and real.
