WAFL round 22...

EAST PERTH have just one little assignment to complete to qualify for the finals 2010 WAFL finals series – beat the barnstorming, brilliant, brutal top team Claremont on Saturday.
The Royals beat Subiaco in round 22 to move into fourth spot. Adam Prior, a handy forward in recent weeks, kicked five goals, Aaron Sweet was again in fine touch and Craig Wulff put in another gutsy ball-winning display. Blake Broadhurst kicked 5.8 for the Lions.
East Perth 17.7 (109) Subiaco 13.18 (96).
Meanwhile Claremont thrashed West Perth in the opening game of the double-header at Bassendean. The Tigers have lost leading goal scorer Chad Jones for the year. in his absence Andrew Foster kicked five and Jarrod Ninyette four while Luke Blackwell was BOG. Anton Saylor kicked four goals in the first half for the Falcons.
Claremont 22.8 (140) West Perth 11.6 (72).
In the second game at Bassendean Swan Districts had an easy win over Perth. Tim Geappen kicked eight goals for Swans, Josh Roberts and Andrew Krakouer controlled the midfield and 16-year-old Stephen Coniglio impressed on debut. Chris Mayne kicked two goals in his first game for ages for the Demons.
Swan Districts 25.16 (166) Perth 16.8 (104).
In the Sunday game at Mandurah East Fremantle booked a place in the finals with a 113-point win over Peel. Youngsters Alex Fasolo and Jack Perham each kicked six goals for the Sharks and Lewis Fasolo also impressed.
East Fremantle 25.15 (165) Peel 7.10 (52).

This week: West Perth plays Perth and East Perth plays Claremont. If the Royals win they stay in the four. If the Falcons beat Perth and East Perth lose it's West Perth for the finals.

In other news Swan Districts coach Brian Dawson has announced he'll stand down at the end of the season.
